CANCELLED: Folklore, Learning and Literacies Conference 24-26 April 2020

— Posted on 8th March 2020
The Folklore Society regrets to announce the cancellation of our Folklore, Learning and Literacies conference, 24-26 April 2020. This because the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) situation is only likely to get worse in the medium term, and there is considerable uncertainty about what its consequences will be. The Society’s trustees have decided that it is necessary, in order to minimise disruption, to make this decision now, rather than closer to the scheduled conference dates. We hope to be able to organise a conference on this same, very important theme in the future, but, until such time as the situation is clearer, we have made no decision as to when. The Society offers its apologies for any inconvenience caused, but we believe that this is the only responsible course of action.
The Annual General Meeting of The Folklore Society, which was due to take place during the conference in April, will be deferred to a later date in the year. Please watch this space.
