The Katharine Briggs Award 2020

We are pleased to announce the shortlist for the Katharine Briggs Award 2020, which was postponed from last November to 23 February 2021. The shortlist is in alphabetical order:

  • Jonathan L. READY, Orality, Textuality, and the Homeric Epics: An Interdisciplinary Study of Oral Texts, Dictated Texts, and Wild Texts (Oxford University Press)
  • Sarah SALIH, Imagining the Pagan in Late Medieval England (D.S. Brewer)
  • Ilona TUOMI et al (eds), Charms, Charmers and Charming in Ireland: From the Medieval to the Modern (University of Wales Press)
  • Pete Jordi WOOD, Queeries: Essays on Queer Theory and Fairy Tales (the author)

The winner will be announced online after the Katharine Briggs Lecture 2020: Dr Juliette Wood: ‘”I Cannot Find the Hanged Man”: Tarot Cards and Fantastic Fiction,’ Tuesday 23 February 2021, from 5.00 p.m.

The Katharine Briggs Award 2021 will follow the usual timetable: 31 May deadline for entries, results to be announced in November.
